Bubba: Have you ever been on a real shrimp boat?
Forrest Gump: No, but I’ve been on a real big boat.

Paella Valenciana at Mallorca in Cleveland, Ohio
Saffron rice, all sorts of shellfish (including heaps of shrimp and a lobster tail), roasted red peppers, sausage slices, and peas.
Didn’t have the soccarat (explained here by the “Paella Professor”) that Paella is supposed to have; but it was still amazing. And when they said they have “generous portions”, they meant it.

Seafood Cioppino at Eddie’s Pizzeria Cerino in Seven Hills, Ohio
I’ve already posted about this place, and I try not to double-post; but I’ve been wanting to do a Cioppino post forever.
Whenever I see this tomato-y bowl of seafood and pasta on the menu, I have to get it. I ordered it during my last trip to Vegas, but the picture was so dark I didn’t end up posting it. So here you go. This was on special, though, and I’m not sure how long they’re going to have it as a featured item.
If you’re a seafood person like me, you just have to get this. So good.

Blackened Shrimp & Scallop Pasta at The Hurricane Restaurant in New Bern, North Carolina
The food took forever, the waitress didn’t seem to care to know the specials, and the bar staff kept mixing up our beers.
But… my food was absolutely delicious, so all of that is cancelled out for the most part. The sauce was creamy and cheesy, the seafood had spice, and the portion was big. Won’t be back, since there’s so any other things to try; but I was pretty satisfied with how mine turned out.

Bruschetta and Fresh Spinach Pasta topped with Arrabbiata Sauce and Shrimp at Abrio’s Brick Oven in Athens, Ohio.
Since falling in love with all things involving peppers (in this case, chili peppers and roasted red bell peppers), Arrabbiatta sauce has been at the top of my list of things to order at Italian restaurants. This spicy red sauce from Abrio’s was no joke and the peppers were right in the forefront. Amazing way to end my Athens eating career.
This will (probably) be my last Athens post ever. That chapter of my life is over since I graduated from OU last weekend; and I’ve used up all my Athens posts that I had in the pipeline. On to the next adventure.

Memorial Day Weekend Trip (Post V of V): Shrimp and Grits at Skillets Grill + Cafe in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Ever since I saw the Shrimp And Grits episode of Throwdown (which, for whatever dumb reason, they have no video online), I’ve wanted to try this “Lowcountry classic" dish; because it’s something you can’t get in Cleveland.
Skillets didn’t disappoint. Perfectly cooked shrimp, creamy cheese sauce (with bits bacon and sausage), southern grits. It was everything that I was expecting, and one of the best things I’ve ever eaten (so I had to finish off the series with it).
Note: You REALLY should click on this picture and enlarge it all the way - trust me.

Pad Thai Country Style at Sweet Mango in downtown Berea, Ohio
This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had, and it’s only $9. Also, it’s almost two full meals worth of food, so when I’m done causing trouble at other hometown establishments it makes for great late night snack/drunk food.
UPDATE - New picture added on 8/21
