Mashi Pork Bowl with Pepper Sauce, Fried Rice, Asian Slaw, Scallions, and Sesame Mayo at Mashiso Asian Grille in North Olmsted, Ohio
When I walked in, I recognized their set up. It’s Chipotle, basically. Wait in line; pick between burrito or bowl; choose your ingredients; pig out.
I really thought this was a chain, and I’m admittedly prejudiced against chain restaurants. But when I looked online, I found out that it’s an independent fast-casual joint using fresh, homemade ingredients. Very cool.
My total was $7, and it was totally worth it. Every ingredient in my bowl was awesome. The pork was tender, sauce had a good bite, fried rice was fresh (I watched them make it), slaw was crunchy, and the mayo was maybe the best thing in the bowl.
Right now they are 26/26 on Urbanspoon, which is insane. You just have to try this place if you’re in the Cleveland area.
