The Banana Upside-Down Cake at Clyde’s in Washington, DC was amazing. Better than mom’s famous Banana Bars? Nothing’s better than mom’s… but it was up there. Wow. My favorite dessert I’ve had all year.
And it came after a Browns victory; which was enjoyed in a room full of vocal (drunk) Browns fans. What could be better?

“Sinker” Cookies at Corbo’s Bakery in the Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio
I’m not sure what these are actually called. Some people call them Sinkers. I call them “Aunt Carty Cookies”, because my great-aunt made them when I was a little kid. One time she made me over 100… I think it filled up our entire freezer. They’re so good.
Just check out their Urbanspoon link if you don’t believe me. “Ultimate Italian Sweet Shop” and “best cake around” aren’t things people throw around lightly.

Pillbury Grands Donuts
1. Open that weird tube they come in.
2. Cut out a circle in the middle.
3. Fry at 350.
4. Top with powdered sugar.
These have no business being as good as they are. But they’re amazing, and stupidly simple.

Wheel of Gelato at The Spread Buffet within Horseshoe Casino Cleveland
Flavors include: Cream Caramel, Yoghurt, Coffee, Banana, Tiramisu, Hazelnut, Chocolate, Pistashio, Vanilla, Strawberry, Nutella, and Stracciatella
And from now until the end of September, anyone who earns 25 Tier Credits gets a free buffet. My mom is one of the smallest gamblers I know, and she got to that level pretty easily. Good luck!

Chocolate-covered caramels with Himalayan pink salt from Malley’s Chocolates in Cleveland, Ohio
I think that Malley’s has basically convinced us that crack is now going by the name “Himalayan pink salt”; and is topping their chocolates with it. These are so addictive - they shouldn’t even be legal.
