Great Lakes Beer Brat from DW Whittaker inside the West Side Market.
Great day for some porch sitting, Tribe (walk-off) winning, and beer-brat eating.

Delmonico Ribeye from (the newly re-opened) Foster’s Meats inside the West Side Market
Prepared Gordon Ramsay style.
Chicken and Pulled Pork tacos from Fired Up Taco Truck
One of the cool parts about my new apartment is that it’s just a ten minute walk to Mini Mart, which is a great place for assembling custom six packs with your favorite beers. It also happens to be where Fired Up parks (at least) once a week.
So I devoured these while watching some middle schoolers play tennis ball baseball at the field right next door. Oh, the memories!!
All WSM Everything continues.
Tomato-Basil fettuccine (from @OhioCityPasta) tossed with sautéed zucchini and diced tomatoes. Looks like springtime to me.
Butcher’s Bun at NoodleCat inside the West Side Market
I’ve recently moved into a new place; and with that I’ve made a new commitment to going to the market regularly. I’m trying to source as much of my food from there as possible.
On a recent stop, I couldn’t help but get some of the ready-to-eat snacks. NoodleCat’s Butcher’s Bun changes on a daily basis, and on the day I went it included: Corned Beef, Spicy Mayo, and Creamy Slaw.
An update on my previous post about the fire in Cleveland’s West Side Market
After nine days of extensive (24 hour/day) cleaning, the Market is set to re-open next Monday (February 18th). If anything good has come from the fire (and the market being closed), it’s that this is likely the cleanest the market has been in its 100 years of existence.
Some of the vendors aren’t sure how much inventory they’ll have on that first day… but since I have the day off from work; I know I’ll be there.
Also, I’ll be moving to Lakewood in less than two months, so I’ll be even closer to one of my favorite spots in all of CLE.
Happy hour chocolate fondue at Chocolate Bar in downtown Cleveland.
Four dollars. Four full dollars of happiness.
This past Wednesday, an electrical fire took over two stands inside Cleveland’s West Side Market. The soot is so thick on the walls, ceiling, and vendor stands; it’s going to take “weeks” to clean and re-open.
The vendors have insurance to cover their inventories, but this was expected to be one of their biggest weekends of the year because of the Super Bowl. Sucks to see this happen to one of my favorite places.
Luckily, Cleveland is a pretty amazing community. Michael Symon is “putting things together” to help, Market Garden Brewery and Happy Dog are donating money from sales to the Vendor’s Association, and a cash mob (with a date not set in stone) has over 2,000 “yes” RSVPs on Facebook. That first Saturday after re-opening is going to be insanely busy, but I can’t wait to go and be a part of it.
Pot Roast - the ultimate cold-day-in-Cleveland dish.
My own creation/adaptation from Michael Symon’s Carnivore. He suggests a wheat beer - I went with an old favorite, 312.
Twisted Brisket at Fat Head’s in North Olmsted, Ohio.
Beef brisket, Smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, fried egg, and onion crisps; cross-section style.
Also, check out their Brewer’s tumblr. They’re doing some very cool stuff - and doing it very well. BankBryan even rewarded it five stars.

Haven’t posted anything from B Spot in a while.
This is the Porky Burger. BBQ pulled pork, coleslaw, Cleveland BBQ sauce, and bacon top this one. The reason why I’m posting this is to spread the word about their Happy Hour, which runs 3-6p during the week. $5 Burgers, $3 Beers, $2 Brats. Pretty unreal. Check it out.
